Cheryl Fort, an Anishinaabe kwe from the Treaty 9 territory, is in her second term as Mayor of the Township of Hornepayne. She works for Canadian National Railway and is an avid volunteer with 28 years of experience, having served as a school board trustee, library board member, and hospital board member. While working as both Mayor and Locomotive Engineer, Cheryl also serves as the 1st Vice President for the Ontario Good Roads Association (Good Roads), Vice Chair of the Province’s Housing Policy Implementation Team, and Chair of the Hornepayne Housing Corporation.
