Ami Patel, CPA, CA, is a purpose-driven finance leader with deep expertise in development, strategy, and community housing. As the head of financial and strategic evaluation at Civic Developments, she leads project financing, accounting, financial reporting, and corporate operations – ensuring that each initiative is grounded in strong fiscal stewardship and long-term impact.

Ami brings over a decade of leadership experience from Canada’s community housing sector. Most recently, she served as Director of Development at the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada), where she shaped national strategies to grow and sustain co-operative housing. Prior to that, she was Chief Financial Officer at Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation and President of the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association (ONPHA), where she championed policy and funding reform at all levels of government.

Ami began her career in audit and financial services on Bay Street, with a Big 4 accounting firm before moving to a major Canadian bank. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Honours Arts Chartered Accountancy Studies and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo.
