Brian Marks
Brian Marks has spent more than 25 years advancing public service in Northern Ontario, guided by the belief that strong communities are built when people, organizations and governments work toward shared outcomes. His career has focused on the interconnected systems that shape community well-being, including housing, health, early years and education, income and employment, and economic development.
As Chief Administrative Officer of the Cochrane District Services Board, Brian is a respected leader in Northern Ontario’s public sector. A lifelong resident of Northeastern Ontario, he is known for bringing together governments, Indigenous communities, service providers, educational institutions and community organizations to develop innovative, community-driven solutions that strengthen communities and improve quality of life.
Brian’s leadership extends beyond the CDSB. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Cochrane District Ontario Health Team, Chair of Housing Services Corporation, Chair of Encasa Financial Inc., lead Chief Administrative Officer for the Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association (NOSDA), and is a founding member of the Chartered Institute of Housing Canada. Through these roles, he is instrumental in helping shape housing, human services and community development initiatives at the provincial, regional and local levels.
