As Director, Social Finance and Impact Investing, Irene oversees VCF’s impact investing and social finance initiatives, including the Vancity Affordable Community Housing Program and Accelerator Fund that delivers catalytic capital to support pre-construction phases of community-owned housing development and acquisition projects. Irene has over 20 years of experience in leading and investing in non-profit and community economic development initiatives, particularly related to development of social enterprises, housing, social purpose real estate and social finance tools and programs. Irene has a BComm from the University of Saskatchewan and a MSc. in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph and lives in North Vancouver with her husband and 2 children and dog Kevin.
