Katie’s first experience with tea comes in the memory of drinking Irish Breakfast with her grandmother out of delicate teacups. Today, she carries the same reverence and passion for the art of tea into her day to day life. Katie founded The Monarch Tea Co. in 2014 with the vision of bringing together the traditional elegance of tea time with a modern twist. She currently offers her bespoke tea online and in select retailers across Canada while additionally offering interactive virtual tea & in person tea workshops that have been taught worldwide.

Katie has worked with clients such as Cartier, New York Times, Google, Spotify and more. You can also find her offering free tea talks to seniors centers and volunteering with Meals on Wheels in Hamilton. She is the winner of the First Ontario 1 Award, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Dejardin’s Good Spark Grant and more. As a certified Tea Sommelier through the Tea and Herb Association of Canada, Katie loves to explore the world of tea with others. Her favourite tea is Cream Earl Grey & Genmaicha.
