Sarah Woodgate
Sarah Woodgate is the President and CEO of Calgary Housing. Under Sarah’s leadership, Calgary Housing has evolved from a regulated authority into a purpose-driven social enterprise serving more than 25,000 residents.
With stewardship of lands that have an asset replacement valued at over $1 billion, the organization has an active development program with more than 700 homes underway and a growth plan for 3,000 homes over the next ten years. Calgary Housing expertly stewards portfolios of homes owned by the company, the City of Calgary and property manages provincial social housing and rental supplements on behalf of The Alberta government. More than 60 percent of the homes are operated as mixed-income, providing affordable rental options to near-market rates. This innovative model does not rely on government operating subsidies, has growing reserves and net-positive revenue. This model and cultivates a strong sense of community where everyone can flourish.
As a professional urban planner, Sarah is deeply passionate about community development and empowering individuals. Sarah has over two decades of extensive municipal and non-profit experience; including managing large budgets and extensive leadership roles in a variety of functions and portfolios.
